Golf Roots is the Golf Foundations leading initiative which aims to increase the amount of young people given the opportunity to play golf. In East London we will be focusing on 3 main boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham to introduce as many young people into the game as possible through our schools and community programmes. Although these 3 boroughs are our focus we are also keen to hear from other boroughs who may be thinking of delivering golf activity. 2011/2012 is an exciting time for East London with a Street Golf initiative to be piloted at the end of this year and launched in January 2012 to bring golf to the young people of inner city areas without the need to go to a golf facility.
